Teaser Tuesday : Death On The Nile by Agatha Christie

Welcome to Teaser Tuesday, the weekly Meme hosted by Ambrosia of The Purple Booker. We make it very easy to play along, it is as easy as 1, 2, 3!

1: Grab your current read
2: Open to a random page
3: Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page

• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers! Everyone loves Teaser Tuesday.

Today I am sharing two teasers from Agatha Christie's Death On The Nile. I love Christie's Hercule Poirot and Death on the Nile is a great mystery!

" Don't be sorry for me. Don't be kind. It's easier if you're not" she sighed- a long heartrending sigh. " I'm so tired...I'm so deadly, deadly tired. "
" I know," said Poirot
" People think I'm awful. Stuck up and cross and bad-tempered. I can't help it. I've forgotten how to be- to be nice "

------------

" Mr. Pennington," said Race, " how long have you been in this room? "
" Why, let me see. " Mr. Pennington gently rubbed his chin. " I should say a matter of twenty minutes or so"
" And you haven't left it?"
" Why no- certainly not "
He looked inquiringly at the two men
" You see, Mr. Pennington," said Race " Mrs. Otterbourne was shot with your revolver "

------------

I love how Christie's books were all written in the 30s and they are still great reads today!

SUMMARY:

The tranquillity of a cruise along the Nile is shattered by the discovery that Linnet Ridgeway has been shot through the head. She was young, stylish, and beautiful, a girl who had everything - until she lost her life. Hercule Poirot recalls an earlier outburst by a fellow passenger: 'I'd like to put my dear little pistol against her head and just press the trigger.' Yet in this exotic setting, nothing is ever quite what it seems

Comments

  1. This and other Agatha Christie books always sound so good to me but, I haven't had much success with the ones I've tried for some reason.
